All proceeds of the event will benefit TCSAR volunteers.  See you Saturday!

TCSAR began their short haul training for the winter season this past week.  This year we are welcoming several new members of TCSAR into the short haul team.  While this is undoubtedly the best ride in the Tetons we sincerely hope nobody needs it this winter.  Time to brush off the becon and get in some early season practice.  Stay safe out there.

TCSAR responds to lost hunter search

Jackson dispatch received a call around midnight Saturday night for an hunter who had not returned to camp in the Dry Cottonwood area of the Gros Ventre mountain range.  Weather overnight in the area was in the 30’s w/ light snow & rain. Approx 14 SAR members responded at 6:30 AM to the hunting camp and along with members of the the hunting party began a search on foot and using ATV’s as snow fall increased and visibility decreased.  A Forest Service interagency helicopter was utilized for an air search as the weather improved later in the morning.  Early in the afternoon we were notified the missing party had walked out of the forest in the Black Rock area, 20+ miles to the north of where he was last seen.
TCSAR is incredibly grateful that this hunter was safe  we recommend staying put and making yourself visible when lost.
